d5ffe5d042 Switch an item between its HTML and its Markdown (#285)
A feed that sends <source:markdown> beside its HTML (Scripting News) has its
Markdown kept in entries.markdown, added to existing databases by an ALTER.
A stored item gets it when a scan finds it told differently, the Markdown
counting as a change, the way corrections arrive (#141). The API sends it as
written and made HTML, cleaned by ammonia like the description.

The item's page has a choice between its meta line and its buttons: HTML,
Markdown or Markdown source, remembered in the browser.

9a41641eaa Signals: an admin chooses whether the server's TypeSafe key pays for everyone (#271)
With signals_on_server set and TYPESAFE_KEY present, the judge asks Jev
about everyone's Signals on the server's key; otherwise each person turns
Signals on in Settings with a key of their own, which is now checked with
TypeSafe before it is saved. The Signals folder shows only when they are on.

The browser suite's daemon inherited the shell's TYPESAFE_KEY, so fixture
feeds were sent to the real TypeSafe to be categorised; it is blanked now,
and an empty key counts as none.

ce485a82ac Signals judge one subject, with a sentence of your own, not any one word (#259)
Jev was asked "Is this item about any of these: ai, development, programming?", so any one broad
word was enough and the Signal's name, which says what is meant, was never sent. AI Development
held 54 items: Sega pulling a game remaster (0.90), a Surface Laptop review (0.95), a C++ tutorial
(0.99). It is now asked about one subject, called by the Signal's name, described by its words
and, when those are not enough, its owner's sentence. Scored against TypeSafe over those 54 with
"AI tools for writing software: coding agents, AI dev tools, vibe coding, AI in code review.":
5 stay, Linux kernel AI code review highest at 0.94; the remaster 0.06, the C++ tutorial 0.02.

signals.description is new, and its first start deletes every verdict, which answered the old
question, so everything in the window is asked again. Any change to a Signal's name, words or
sentence drops its verdicts, since each is part of the question. The queue query names the
Signal's sentence apart from the item's description, which share a row; the test caught the
item's winning.

20f53183ac Signals: Jev's request in the shape TypeSafe takes, and its reason kept when it refuses (#257)
Every call was refused with 422: a noul question's `criteria` is an object of what true and false
mean, and it was sent a sentence. The error kept only the status, from error_for_status, so the log
and the trace said 422 and not why; TypeSafe's body said "Input should be a valid dictionary"
at questions.3.noul.criteria. The body is now in the error and on the jev span, with the status.

A request refused as malformed (400, 422) ends the pass, since every other item's would be refused
the same way: the 50 warnings a pass were the same failure 50 times. The state is text now, as
TypeSafe's docs show it, rather than an object that sent null for a feed with no title, and the
questions are keyed signal_<id>. Checked against TypeSafe with the corrected request: 0.96 for an
item about the keywords, 0.02 for one that was not.

70990c70c7 Signals: feeds made from your subscriptions, picked by Jev (#254)
A Signal is a name and keywords. A task beside DeadAir's asks TypeSafe's Jev, on the owner's own
key, about each item of their subscribed feeds from the last 30 days and every new one: one call
an item, one noul question for each of their Signals still to hear about it, 0.5 or more a fit.
Every verdict is kept, fitting or not, in signal_verdicts, so nothing is asked twice, and new
keywords drop a Signal's verdicts to be judged afresh. A key TypeSafe refuses (401/402/403) is
passed over until its owner saves another, so a bad key is not sent the whole queue.

A Signal's items come through entries_where with an EXISTS on its hits, so filters, search, sort
and read state are an ordinary list's, and reading an item in a Signal reads it in its feed.

The page shows Signals under the places, with New signal, and Settings takes the TypeSafe key,
which is never sent back. The browser suite stubs Jev in the fixture server (IPX_TYPESAFE_URL).

827cc7489f DeadAir in the page: a switch per show, one beside the speed, and the time saved (#172)
A DeadAir switch in each show's settings, and the same switch beside
the speed for the show that is playing, drawn as a waveform with its gap
closed up, outlined when off and solid when on, with aria-pressed. A
file the server gives a copy for plays from /media/{id}/deadair. An
episode's line says how much shorter it is, and Settings says how much
DeadAir has saved you.

Turning it on or off mid-episode saves the place with a request it waits
for, not a beacon, then asks for the entry again from the new
GET /api/entries/{feed}/{guid}, whose position is in the clock of the
version it now plays, and carries on there. A copy not made yet plays
from the next time. Turning a show on wakes the copy maker, so the copy
is there in seconds rather than at its next pass.

The browser test plays a real MP3 with long silences, quiet.mp3, from a
show it adds and removes itself.

a553d050ca Have ipx add, rm and import tell a running daemon to read the catalogue again (#120)
`docker exec iPX ipx rm make` printed "removed make" and took it out of the catalogue table, but
the web UI went on listing it. add, rm and import run in a process of their own and write the
whole catalogue there; the daemon kept its own copy in memory, and its next change of its own --
an admin's edit, a feed categorised (#117), a moved feed followed (#115) -- wrote the removed
feed back and dropped any the command line had added.

A new socket command, reload, has the daemon read the catalogue and settings again from the
database. The socket answers it at once, as it answers status, with the counts after it: queued
behind a scan, the web UI could write the old copy back in the meantime. add, rm and import send
it when a daemon is live, and say so if it does not answer. User commands need nothing: the
daemon reads accounts from the database on every request.

A browser test runs the real `ipx add --list` and `ipx rm` against the test daemon, with an
admin's edit after each, and fails without this.

a00516687a Keep artwork on disk and serve every image from iPX (#111)
The page loaded artwork from each publisher's server, or through /api/art, fetched every time,
for http-only hosts. Nothing was kept, every visit asked every publisher, and artwork went when
a publisher's server did.

- The page draws every image a feed or item names from /api/art. The first time, iPX fetches
it (only an address a feed or item names, only an image, up to 5 MB, within the feed timeout)
and keeps it in art/ beside the database, under a hash of its address with its type beside
it (src/art.rs). Later it comes from disk, which marks it as used.
- art_cache_mb, a server setting on the admin page, 500 by default, caps what is kept: the
sweep before each scan drops the least recently shown until it fits. 0 keeps nothing, and
artwork is fetched through iPX each time. Settings saved before it get the default.
- Served from iPX's own address, someone else's image must stay an image: nosniff, and a CSP
with sandbox, so an SVG opened on its own runs no script as iPX.
- The fixture server sends .jpg as image/jpeg, which /api/art requires.

79bc006a30 Add only what is a feed or links one; refuse the rest (#102)
Adding an address looked for the feed a web page links and, finding none, added the address
as it was: every check then failed, and the sidebar called it a feed that had moved. cnn.com
is one; its page links no feed. find_feed replaces feed_behind_page: the address is added if
it is a feed or an OPML list, the feed its page links if it is a web page that links one (and
that is a feed), and otherwise the add is refused with the reason, from the web page (400, the
dialog stays open) and from `ipx add`.

954173cacf Directory: chips by kind and category over a grid of cover art
Feeds take their channel's first <itunes:category> into a new feeds.category
column; the migration drops ETag and Last-Modified once so every feed re-reads
on its normal schedule and picks one up. /api/popular and /api/directory carry
category and podcast (any audio or video enclosure). Directory becomes a grid of
cover-art tiles under a chip rail: All, Podcasts, Blogs, and a podcast's
categories once Podcasts is picked. Popular and Add a feed keep their rows.

Closes #4, closes #5, closes #6, closes #7.

d7fac2d0e7 Never list paid-feed services; scan on add; no "reaped"; slimmer header
- Security: feeds from Patreon, Supercast, Supporting Cast, Glow and
Memberful are never listed in Popular or the Directory. A Supercast
feed keeps its key in the URL's path, which the query check missed, so
  it was being listed.
- Adding a feed queues a scan of it, and an OPML import that added feeds
scans what is due, so items show without pressing Scan.
- A file deleted to save space, or by hand, looks as if it was never
downloaded: no "reaped" chip, just the Download button. The retention
  summary says "deleted".
- The feed header keeps its title and stats to one line each and wraps
its buttons; a single feed's table drops the Feed column.
- Tests: adding a feed shows its item without Scan; a deleted file shows
no "reaped"; paid-feed hosts and acast public ids in the unit test.

8b8b48302b Popular on this server; changelog follows Keep a Changelog; 0.3.0
- Add feed lists what other accounts subscribe to, most subscribers
first, and subscribes you by id (GET /api/popular, POST
/api/popular/{id}). Rows never carry a URL. Feeds from an OPML and
anything that looks private (a login, credentials in the URL, a key
such as auth= or token=) are never listed, and the subscribe route
checks the id against the same list.
- CHANGELOG.md follows Keep a Changelog 1.1.0: 0.1.0 (2026-09-09, the
CLI), 0.2.0 (2026-09-10, the web UI), 0.3.0 (2026-09-11, accounts and
sharing). The long-form entries moved unchanged to docs/history.md.
- Cargo.toml is 0.3.0. CLAUDE.md says how to add an entry and cut a
  release.

5d3fdde4da Upload an OPML file to import; tests for every way in and out
- The import screen has a file picker beside the paste box. The page
reads the file, checks it looks like OPML before sending, and clears
the picker when it is refused and after it is imported. The file is
sent as text and never written to disk on the server.
- The server parses the OPML before touching anything and answers 400
"that is not an OPML file" (was a 500). subscribe_opml takes a parsed
document, so ipx import also refuses a non-OPML file by name.
- Tests: Settings' Export OPML download and paste import; uploading an
RSS file (refused) and a real OPML; the server's 400; the admin's
export round-tripped into a second account; ipx import/export in a
  scratch config.

5e95557cbb User admin in the web UI, admin-only log, unread-first OPML feeds
- Settings > Manage users: add an account (password, or none for proxy
sign-in), toggle admin, remove. Backed by GET/POST /api/users and
  PATCH/DELETE /api/users/{id}, 403 for non-admins. The only admin
  cannot be demoted or removed.
- GET /api/logs is admin-only and the Log button is hidden for others;
the log names every account, feed and failed sign-in.
- Feeds inside an OPML list those with unread items first, in the
sidebar folder and on the subscription's page.
- Deploying is now buildx --push to 192.168.1.130:5000 and recreating
the ipodderx service of the Arcane project content; CLAUDE.md and the
  README's Docker section say so.
- Tests: Playwright for user admin, the last-admin guard, 403s for a
non-admin and the unread ordering (new Aardvark Radio fixture); a unit
test for last_admin; the smoke test drives usersModal.

dd9c0881ee Keep every enclosure on an item, and view without downloading
The rss crate keeps at most one enclosure per item and, when a feed ships
several, silently keeps the last -- so a two-file item lost its first
file. enclosures_by_item reads them from the XML in document order,
unescaping attributes so a URL's &amp; survives. The row summarises the
one you would act on and counts the rest; the pane below lists them all.

Non-media enclosures gain a View link opening in a new tab: the
publisher's URL, or the local copy once downloaded. A direct link, not a
proxy, so the daemon does not become a fetch-anything relay.

6d6b4dd1e4 Do not offer a player for a file that is not audio or video
The media-type filter stopped new image enclosures being fetched, but ones
already on disk still got a play button and an <audio> element, because
the UI tested for a path rather than for a playable type. Four places did
this, including play() itself, which picked the first downloaded enclosure
whatever it was.

isPlayable() checks audio/* or video/*, falling back to the extension when
a feed declares no type. A downloaded non-media file now shows as its kind
with Save and Delete, so it stays available without posing as an episode.

8b21d19365 Log tabs with a daemon I/O view, and Playwright UI tests
The log view splits into All / Daemon I/O / Scans / HTTP. Daemon I/O is
the control protocol itself, logged where every command funnels through
so it covers socket clients, the CLI and the web UI alike. stderr and the
in-app buffer now have separate filters, so the UI can keep debug detail
the terminal should not carry.

Playwright drives a real browser against a daemon on fixture feeds. Eight
tests, each mapping to a bug that reached a user -- the Rust tests and the
stub-DOM smoke test cannot see a wrong selector or a dead handler.

It immediately found one: OPML folders rendered expanded by default,
because the code stored closed groups, so any folder never toggled counted
as open.
