Asked for on 2026-10-19 with the Signals switch (see the issue beside this one). The dialog has grown one setting at a time since #167: download, DeadAir, hidden words, In All Subscriptions (#288), Private, and now Signals, in one column with a caption each. Group them by what they change, with mockups here for approval before it merges.

On a phone each part's name sits above its controls.

What changed

  • Parts named by what they change, the name in a column beside the controls, ruled apart. The box round downloads (and none round the rest) is gone.
  • All Subscriptions and Signals as rows with the sidebar's own icons. The Signals row shows only when Signals are on.
  • Hide items that mention moves into Where it shows.
  • Captions shortened: DeadAir to two lines, Breathing room's dropped, hidden words to one.
  • The address, the same for everyone and an admin's to change, moves to the foot. A feed that moved still scrolls there.
  • No theme colours changed. The dialog is 580px wide on a desktop, from 520.

Yours to decide

  1. The address at the foot, or back at the top under the name.
  2. Part names: Downloads, Playback, Where it shows, Directory, Address.
  3. The Signals row hidden when Signals are off, or always shown.
  4. Breathing room's caption ("The silence kept where a long one is cut...") dropped, or kept.

Changed after approval, as asked: DeadAir's pause slider has no Breathing room heading now, only its value (named for screen readers still). Deployed with 4c1b784.
