The per-show "Pause it leaves" control (#182) is a row of four segmented buttons, 0.2 / 0.3 / 0.4 / 0.5 s. They are steps along one scale, from brisk to relaxed, but nothing shows that, and the control stays on screen while DeadAir is off, where it does nothing. Proposal: a four-stop slider with the value beside its label and Brisk/Relaxed at its ends, shown only while DeadAir is on. Mockups to follow for approval.
Prototype on branch
deadair-pause-ui(4ccf2e5). Shots are the real page against production's data, Glass at 390px unless noted. (The faint list showing through is the headless browser's rendering of Glass's blur, not the design.)Before
After: a four-stop slider
DeadAir off: the pause is hidden, since it does nothing then.
Modern, dark, wider
The other option, a drop-down, not built:
Smallest, but it hides the other choices behind a tap (on iOS, a wheel picker) and says nothing about which way is brisker.
Decisions for you: slider or drop-down; the end words (Brisk / Relaxed); whether hiding it while DeadAir is off is right.
Decided: slider; Brisk / Relaxed; greyed out, not hidden, while DeadAir is off. "Pause it leaves" is now Breathing room, with the caption "The silence kept where a long one is cut. More is easier on the ear; less saves more time." On the branch as
