DeadAir keeps
KEEP= 0.1s of a silence on each side of a cut (src/deadair.rs), so every pause it shortens ends up about 0.2s long. Listening to techpod-358 through the HLS test (#180), there were no clipped words, but speech felt fast: the gaps between sentences could be a little longer.Being tried by ear on the test page at 0.3s, 0.4s and 0.5s pauses (KEEP 0.15, 0.2, 0.25). A longer KEEP saves less time; the cost of each value is on the test page.
Decided 2026-10-10: the pause is per person, per show, chosen from 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5s, default 0.3s (what sounded right on the test page). Per person needs #181 (HLS playlists) first, since one copy can only have one pause length, so the two are built together, with hls.js for browsers without native HLS and no copies at all.

089202f, deployed. Each show's settings have a 'Pause it leaves' choice of 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 or 0.5 s, per person, stored on deadair_prefs.pause_ms; the default is 0.3 s. Positions, the time-saved count and the playlist all follow the chosen plan.
