Found reviewing what production's traces and metrics leave out, 2026-10-25. The dashboard counts them from log lines, which nothing can alert on and which go with Loki's retention. Wanted: counters: feed failures by error.type, new items, downloads finished and failed, DeadAir's seconds saved.

Fixed in dd91602: ipx_feed_failures_total{error_type}, ipx_new_items_total, ipx_downloads_total{result}, ipx_deadair_saved_seconds_total, counted in emit. Deployed 2026-10-25.
